Hawkesbury River Dragons (HRD) is the local dragon boat club based at Brooklyn, Northern Sydney on the beautiful Hawkesbury River.

If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing and want to take your paddling to the next level, come and experience the excitement of dragon boating. Just minutes from Hornsby and Berowra, dragon boating is a fun, social, and high-energy team sport that combines fitness, teamwork, and time on the water. 

Whether you're looking for a new way to stay active, meet new people, or just try something different outdoors, dragon boating offers an incredible alternative to solo paddling. No experience needed – just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to paddle together! Come try out this fast and furious water based sport in the upper north shore of Sydney.

The club started in January 2011 and in a short period of time the Club has built up a strong membership with current paddlers numbering in excess of 70 people.

HRD welcomes paddlers of all ages, combining a competitive spirit with a social atmosphere.

Training sessions:

1. Saturday: 7:30 - 9am in summer (Winter time 8am - 9am)
2. Thursday: 6:30pm - 7:30pm
